The Chinese government — or worse — could be using the tech to spy on infants and toddlers, the Cornhusker State says.

Hulk Hogan’s estate is denied a preliminary injunction to stop the documentary, “Video Killed the Radio Star: The Untold Story of the Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Scandal,” from including footage from a sex tape of Hogan and the ex-wife of radio host Bubba the Love Sponge Clem. Only a fragment of the sex tape is used in the documentary and it appears those excerpts were already available to the public through media sites, so it is likely that “fair use” protects the inclusion of the clips, a federal judge ruled.

The Hershey Co. won’t have to face claims brought by consumers who said they expected the Halloween-themed Reese’s peanut butter pumpkins they purchased to have “artistic carvings” of eyes and mouths like depicted on the front of the package and were disappointed to find blank pumpkins. The consumers failed to allege that the lack of designs rendered the chocolates “unfit for consumption,” and their personal disappointment is not enough to allege an injury, a federal judge ruled.

A federal judge vacated the death sentence of Jerry Grant Frye, who was convicted of murdering two people in 1988 during a robbery. A juror in the case asked her minister prior to the penalty phase about what the Bible had to say about the death penalty, and he responded with a written letter seemingly reassuring her that it was acceptable to vote for the death penalty. This was at least at least “possibly prejudicial” to Frye, the judge ruled.

A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction on the Trump administration's attempt to revoke federal funding from a coalition of cities and counties by placing anti-DEI and anti-immigration conditions on the money via executive order. The "vague" conditions are likely unconstitutional and exceed statutory authority. The injunction extends a previously granted temporary restraining order against the conditions, and prohibits the government from withholding or canceling funds.

Audible can’t dodge a class action accusing it of allowing credits purchased through memberships to expire one year after consumers receive them in violation of Washington’s gift certificate law. A federal judge ruled that the state’s law does not require that a voucher be issued for a certain monetary value to be considered a gift certificate, nor does the law specifically state that a voucher must be transferable to qualify.
