Operator of Hooker-Ad Site to Forfeit $1M-Plus

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - A California man who ran websites that facilitated prostitution in the Bay Area must forfeit two cars and more than $1 million in cash and assets, a federal judge ruled.

U.S. District Judge William Orrick signed a preliminary forfeiture order on April 30 for the property of Eric Omuro, of Mountain View.

Omuro pleaded guilty in December to operating myRedBook.com, formerly known as sfredbook.com, which hosted prostitute advertising. Ads included photos, physical descriptions and menus of sexual services.

Orrick's order, which stems from a plea agreement, says Omuro must forfeit a 2011 BMW, a 2012 Mini Cooper, and cash and assets from various bank accounts. The cash assets total more than $1.28 million.

The judge's preliminary order will become final at Omuro's sentencing, scheduled for May 21.

Omuro was arrested in June 2014.

Annmarie Lanoce, of Rocklin, pleaded guilty last November to aiding and abetting the enterprise. She's also scheduled for sentencing on May 21.

Omuro's attorney John Weston of Weston, Garrou and Mooney, and prosecutor Elise Becker with the U.S. Attorney's Office in San Francisco could not immediately be reached after hours.
