9th Circuit Tosses Lawsuit Over Karaoke Machines

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - Karaoke machines require more copyright licenses than jukeboxes, the 9th Circuit ruled. In a question of first impression, the court dismissed Leadsinger Inc.'s challenge of additional licensing fees for karaoke machines that display lyrics along with the music. See ruling.
