6th Circuit

CIVIL RIGHTS - The 6th Circuit upheld a judgment for Memphis in a lawsuit filed by a white police officer who claimed that black officers were given more desirable assignments and that his black supervisor created a hostile work environment. The court said the complaints filed against the black supervisor failed to establish a pattern of discrimination or a history of inaction on the part of the city.
