MANHATTAN (CN) - A 47-year-old Georgia man was sentenced Monday to 6 1/2 years in federal prison for selling bogus "vintage" horror movie posters over the Internet for $1.3 million, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Kelly Haggard, of Commerce, pleaded guilty to mail fraud in October 2011. He had digital reproductions made of horror posters and lobby cards, and sold them over the Internet for $500 to $5,000 apiece, prosecutors said in a statement announcing his sentencing.
Haggard cheated about 25 victims of more than $1.3 million in money and property, prosecutors said. He was ordered to pay $1.38 million in restitution.
