5th Circuit

FALSE CLAIMS - A woman brought a False Claims Act against the city of Houston and the Houston Area Urban League, claiming the defendants submitted false information to the Department of Housing and Urban Development in order to receive funds. The 5th Circuit upheld summary judgment for the defendants, since the plaintiff failed to show that they knew of any false statements in the documents.
