5th Circuit

IMMUNITY - A man sued a high-level Texas Lottery official for allegedly firing him for engaging in protected speech, and the official unsuccessfully moved for dismissal on qualified immunity grounds. The 5th Circuit ruled that it lacks jurisdiction to review the case, because circuit precedent prevents review of the district court's fact-based decision on the qualified immunity claim.
