4th Circuit

CORPORATIONS, TRADEMARK - Virgin Enterprises, a British conglomerate that owns several U.S. trademark registrations, opposed a Portuguese company's trademark registration. The 4th Circuit reversed a ruling not to compel the company to designate a representative for a corporate deposition. The decision held that no corporate designee residing within the issuing district could be designated as a witness. See ruling.
