33 Months for Threat|to Bomb Synagogue

HOUSTON (CN) - A Houston man was sentenced Monday to 33 months in federal prison for threatening to bomb a synagogue.

Dante Phearse, 33, pleaded guilty on April 28 to threatening to bomb a synagogue and making a telephone bomb threat.

Phearse called in the bomb threat on April 30, 2013.

The synagogue, Congregation Beth Israel, in Houston, then closed for a day and hired extra security.

Phearse also was ordered to pay $13,000 in restitution.
