2nd Circuit Kills Air Passenger Bill Of Rights

MANHATTAN (CN) - The 2nd Circuit ruled today that the State of New York cannot enforce its "airline passengers bill of rights" law that requires airlines to provide food, water, fresh air and toilets to passengers confined in a plane delayed on the ground. The circuit ruled that the law - the first of its kind in the nation - is pre-empted by federal law. An airline trade group, the Air Transport Association of America, challenged the state law.
