2nd Circuit

IMMIGRATION - The 2nd Circuit found that an immigration judge's adverse credibility determination was based solely on speculation that petitioner's identity documents were fraudulent but did not address the fact that his testimony was otherwise credible, consistent and compelling. Petitioner claims he faces racial persecution if removed to Mauritania. See ruling.

IMMIGRATION - The 2nd Circuit held that a conviction - for the purposes of the naturalization provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act - occurs when judgment is entered on the docket, not when a court accepts a guilty plea. Affirmed. See ruling.
