MINNEAPOLIS (CN) - In separate federal complaints, 25 women claim they got breast cancer from a variety of hormone replacement drugs, including Climara, Estraderm, Estrace, Estradiol, CombiPatch, Cenestin, Ogen, Ortho-Prefest and "generic MPA."
Two claim they got cancer after taking Climara and Estraderm, made and sold by Berlex, Novartis and Ciba-Geigy.
One claims she got cancer after taking Estrace, made by Bristol-Myers Squibb.
One claims she got cancer after taking "generic MPA," made by Barr Pharmaceuticals.
One claims she got cancer after taking generic MPA, made by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals.
One claims she got cancer after taking Estradiol, made by Mylan Laboratories.
One claims she got cancer after taking Estradiol, made by Watson Pharmaceuticals.
Two claim they got cancer after taking CombiPatch and/or Cenestin, made by Aventis and Duramed.
Three claim they got cancer after taking Ogen, made by Abbott Laboratories.
One claims she got cancer after taking Ortho-Prefest, made by Ortho-McNeil.
Two other claims involve drugs made by Solvay and Abbott.
Most of the plaintiffs are represented by Michael Fay with McSweeny Fay.
Ten similar complaints were filed Monday in St. Louis Federal Court, by Seth Webb, with Brown & Crouppen.
