20 Years for Sex Trafficking a Child

SAN DIEGO (CN) - A 28-year-old San Diego man whose street handle was "Sincere" was sentenced Thursday to nearly 20 years in prison for sex trafficking a child by force, fraud or coercion, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Jonathan Jamar Sanders, a Crip gang member, pleaded guilty a week before trial, which was set for January, prosecutors said.

He admitted recruiting a 15-year-old girl to work for him as a prostitute in 2009, "where all of the proceeds earned from prostitution were provided to Sanders. Sanders arranged for photos of the minor, along with advertisements detailing costs, to be posted online on websites," the U.S. attorney said in a statement.

Sanders had been convicted in 2006 of a similar offense involving an adult, prosecutors said.

This time, he was sentenced to 236 months in federal prison.
