2 Admit Swiping $284K from Intel Agency

ST. LOUIS (CN) - A former nude model and exotic dancer was sentenced to 2 years in federal prison for her role in a scheme to steal more than $250,000 with a friend's government credit card.

Prosecutors say Teressa Shrum, 33, of Hannibal, Mo., had a "personal relationship" with Steven Brown, 49, of Godfrey, Ill.

Brown's job included buying office supplies for the National Imagery and Mapping Agency, now the Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

Prosecutors say Shrum played upon Brown's desire for her and the two used Brown's credit card to make bogus purchases using a portable credit card terminal. The purchases totaled $284,982, which was used for gambling and vacations. The money was intended to go toward supporting combat and intelligence missions overseas.

Shrum and Brown both pleaded guilty to one felony count of theft of public money in October. Brown was also sentenced to 2 years in prison and both were ordered to repay $261,392.
