18 Years Prison for Foreclosure Vampire

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (CN) - The founder and owner of a Rancho Cucamonga foreclosure rescue business was sentenced Monday to 18 years in federal prison and ordered to pay her victims $6.8 million in restitution.

Andrea Ramirez, 47, of Cucamonga, ran a telemarketing scam under a series of names, including 21st Century Legal Services. She bilked more than 4,000 homebuyers across the country, many of whom lost their homes to foreclosure, the U.S. attorney said.

Ramirez is the 11th defendant to be sentenced to prison in the case.
