$16 Million Bedbug Claim

MANHATTAN (CN) - A woman demands $16 million from Hilton Hotels, saying "hundreds of bedbugs" attacked her at the Providence (R.I.) Hilton, infested her clothes and luggage and followed her home to Long island, where they continued to ravage her, forcing her to throw the stuff away, fumigate her entire house and seek medical care.

Stephanie Weiss demands damages for fraud, nuisance, deceptive trade, and emotional distress. She is represented by Marni Weiss with Weiss Imbesi.

(Bedbugs, apparently emanating from New York, have infested the United States in recent years. Courthouse News has reported 73 bedbug lawsuits since 2004.)
