11th Circuit

CIVIL RIGHTS - A woman claimed that Georgia police violated the civil rights of her son, who committed suicide in the backseat of a sheriff's police car after he was arrested. Though the detainee was known to be suicidal, the 11th Circuit said the sheriff had no way of knowing that the security screen was unlocked, which allowed the arrestee to take the firearm with which he shot himself.
