$115M award against Walmart rolled back

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A federal court in Arkansas ordered a new trial in a dispute between Walmart and the agricultural technology firm Zest Labs, which had secured a $115 million jury award against the big-box store for allegedly violating its “Zest Fresh” IP with Walmart’s “Eden” food freshness initiative. The tech company failed to disclose evidence that “would probably produce a different result at trial”; the court is considering a motion for sanctions.
