FORT WORTH (CN) - Universal AdCom fired a telemarketer for refusing to pose as a city or Chamber of Commerce worker to sell more ads, the woman says in Tarrant County Court.
Sherrell Mpizion says her boss compared her unfavorably with other workers who sold "$4,000 to $6,500 in ads per day" by claiming to be Chamber of Commerce employees, harassing customers who had not paid, and lying about the product.
Mpizion says her boss called her a "poison in the company" because she would not "say whatever it takes" to make a sale.
She demands lost wages and punitive damages for wrongful firing. She is represented by R.S. Ghio of Arlington, Texas.
