Overdose Led to Suicide, Widow Says

RICHMOND, Texas (CN) - A CVS Pharmacy bungled the dosage level on a man's Trazodone prescription, and the regular 100 mg overdoses led to his eventual suicide, his widow claims in Fort Bend County Court.

Jean Hollway says that an error by two pharmacists on Oct. 26, 2006 resulted in her husband Herbie ingesting an extra 100mg of the sleep aid every day for the next four months - 150 mg twice a day instead of 100 mg twice a day. She says her husband developed difficulties concentrating, often became confused and irritable, and underwent a sharp change in personality before taking his own life, on March 26, 2007.

She demands punitive damages. She is represented by Waverly Nolley of Houston.
