Motorcycle Maker Says it Was Defamed

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (CN) - Confederate Motors, a producer of high-end, handcrafted motorcycles, claims jalopnik.com and Gawker Media defamed it in an article on their Web site disparaging CM motorcycles. Confederate Motors claims the article came after it refused to provide the defendants a motorcycle to for a trade show and they threatened revenge.

Confederate Motors that after it appeared at the New York Auto Show the defendants attacked it as a company unfit to do business in the State of New York. Also sued are Wes Siler, who allegedly wrote the article, and Grant Ray, a former employee of Confederate Motors.

Confederate Motors demands punitive damages It is represented in Federal Court by G. Chance Turner.
