Monsanto PCBs

Washington state sued Monsanto in King County Superior Court over contamination to the state’s waterways by the company’s now-banned chemical compound polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs.

SEATTLE – Washington state sued Monsanto in King County Superior Court over contamination to the state’s waterways by the company’s now-banned chemical compound polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs.

The Evergreen State’s lawsuit is one of several Monsanto has faced over its production of PCBs and the environmental damage they cause. Other lawsuits include Long Beach, California; Seattle; Spokane, Washington; the Bay Area cities of San Jose, Berkeley and Oakland; and others.
