Insulation Exaggeration

PITTSBURGH — The Federal Trade Commission accuses Innovative Designs in a federal complaint of overstating the insulation values of its Insultex House Wrap, charging more based on the claim that its product is "the only house wrap with an R-value."

R-value is a measure of resistance to heat flow, but the FTC says the R-value of Innovative Designs' products measure at less than 1, but are touted as R-6 and R-3, respectively.
