Habeas Corpus

The Ninth Circuit on Wednesday affirmed habeas corpus relief to Jose Echevarria, who was sentenced to death for killing FBI Agent John Bailey, because Bailey had investigated presiding trial Judge Jack Lehman for possible criminal prosecution, which created “a constitutionally intolerable risk of bias.”
