Dell Fired Her for Pregnancy, Woman Says

AUSTIN (CN) - Dell computer fired a longtime employee because she got pregnant, the woman claims in Travis County Court. And she claims that after she was fired, and had to use the restroom for pregnancy-related reasons, her bosses ordered her out, or else "they were going to call the police and have her arrested."

Yvette Mackey says Dell fired her on a pretext to cover up its pregnancy discrimination. It claimed her job was "redundant" even though her group expanded after Dell fired her, she says. And she says Dell fired another member of the group who was on pregnancy leave.

Mackey demands punitive damages for wrongful firing and distress. She is represented by Gregory Jordan.
