Class-Action Case Settled With Burritos

PITTSBURGH (CN) - The Big Burrito Restaurant Group, which manages some of Pittsburgh's trendiest eateries, has settled a class-action lawsuit by giving away burritos - or whatever food patrons want to buy with their $7 Settlement Relief Cards, redeemable at all local Mad Mex Restaurants. The settlement resolves a class-action complaint that Big Burrito printed customers' full credit card numbers and/or expiration dates on receipts, putting them at risk of identity theft.

Though the defendants deny any negligence, consumers who used a credit or debit card between December 2006 and March 2007 at any of the group's nine restaurants can see if they are eligible to receive a Mad Mex gift card by filling out a "Proof of Claim" form at this Web site: http://secure.bigburrito.com/settlement/.
