BRIGHTON, Colo. (CN) - A member of the First Love Church Healing Center says he was pinned down and spanked 20 times with a two-by-four for looking at a website.
Joshua Sim says pastor Sun Hui East had five men hold him down at the altar, remove his pants and take turns hitting him on the butt and lower back with a two-by-four because he had looked at an unnamed website that East did not approve of.
Sim says Jim White, Thomas Earl, Jason Frank, David Flores and Victor Cruz, all employees of the Denver-area church, hit him four times each while the others held him down until East called them off.
Sim says he was disfigured and permanently impaired by the "discipline." He is suing the church, its pastor and the men who allegedly spanked him for negligence in Adams County District Court.
He demands payment for past and future medical expenses, "including pain and suffering, a loss of enjoyment of life, and emotional stress," his lawsuit states.
