LOS ANGELES (CN) - A judge on Monday rejected Bill Cosby's attempt to throw out a civil lawsuit by a woman who claims the entertainer sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager, the woman's attorney said.
Judy Huth, of Riverside, California, sued Cosby in late 2014, claiming the comedian molested her at a party at the Playboy Mansion in 1974 when she was 15.
In an email, her attorney Gloria Allred said that the state court judge had rejected Cosby's bid to find the case is untimely.
"Mr. Cosby made yet another attempt to have Judy Huth's case thrown out, this time arguing that the statute of limitations barred her claims. We argued that Ms. Huth's case should not be dismissed because her complaint and its accompanying filings all complied with the statute of limitations for allegations of child sexual abuse.
"The court agreed with us on this critical issue," Allred wrote.
