Alleged Mink 'Liberators' Face Charges

CHICAGO (CN) - Two California men were indicted this week on federal charges of damaging a mink farm in Illinois, from which 2,000 minks were released.
Defendant Tyler Lang, 25, was arrested Thursday in El Segundo.
Defendant Kevin Johnson, 27, is in state custody in Woodford County, Ill.
Both are scheduled for indictment on July 29 in Chicago.
They also are charged with interfering with the operation of a fox farm, also in Illinois.
A federal grand jury in Chicago returned the two-count indictment on Tuesday. It was unsealed after Lang was arrested.
Both men are charged with conspiracy and interstate travel to interfere with the operation of an animal enterprise.
In addition to "freeing" 2,000 minks, someone painted "Liberation is Love" on a mink barn, the Department of Justice said in a statement.
