HOUSTON (CN) - When a car had problems during a test drive, a boneheaded car salesman tried to return to the lot "by driving in reverse against the oncoming traffic," his two injured passengers claim in court.
Jose and Maria Nacianceno sued Hub Hyundai, its salesman Vernal Shaw, and Ann C. Eagles-Field, who drove the other car in the smashup, in Harris County Court.
The Naciancenos say Vernal took them on a test drive on the Interstate 10 service road on June 29.
"When the test drive vehicle developed mechanical problems, defendant Shaw stopped the vehicle, then unilaterally decided to attempt to return to the dealership by driving in reverse against the oncoming traffic," the complaint states.
The Naciancenos say they were hurt and disfigured in the wreck.
They seek damages for medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering. They are represented by Shane Kadlec of Houston.
