Class Accuses Qualcomm Of Monopolization

SAN DIEGO (CN) - Qualcomm inflates prices for mobile phones and restricts competition through its monopoly of CDMA technology, a class action claims in Federal Court.
Plaintiffs claim that Qualcomm's monopoly allows it "to induce cellular handset and component part manufacturer licensees to enter into anticompetitive, long-term licenses under which they are induced, either vis-a-vis pricing threats or incentives, to agree not to use competitor chipsets."
CDMA stand for Code Division Multiple Access.
Plaintiffs are represented by R. Duane Westrup with Westrup Klick.
