One of Ten Americans Moved Last Year

More than one out of ten Americans moved last year, according to the U.S. Census. Most of the 12% who moved did so for a better house and roughly two thirds stayed in the same county. Blacks made up the most mobile racial group with 17% on the move. The migration from cities to suburbs continued as well, where major cities lost an overall 2 million people and suburbs gained almost as much.
